The Missoula Haunted House Is Closed

I thought I'd write a quick message to everyone out there who is feeling bummed about the Haunted House not being open and wondering why that Is.

I have had a great time putting on The Missoula Haunted House on and off for the past 15 years. The haunt started in a backyard with a group of friends and grew into a large scale attraction at the fairgrounds in Missoula then ended up at Grass Valley Farms in the cornfield last year. It has been an incredible ride, a ton of fun, a ton of work and financial risk, All worth it.

I'm just a guy. 1 guy with a group of Halloween Die-hard friends who help me with the haunted house every year. There's no corporate financial backing to this, I don't have a rich uncle who is paying for everything, I don't own any land or commercial buildings. I'm just a guy who has maxed out his available credit every year to make the haunted house happen. Its crazy to think about but, I started this when I was 25 now I'm 40. For those of you who have made the journey from 20 something to old person (for those of you who haven't, the stories are true) you know that things change in a big way during that time.

I've gotten married and started a family since the beginning of the Haunted House. With those life changes come a change in bandwidth and priorities. I sadly don't have the time to run the Haunt anymore and my priority is to my wife and child. I have chosen to spend more time with them.

I hope someone picks up the baton and starts a haunted house of their own. I would LOVE to go to a haunted house and not just run one. Missoula loves Halloween and I have felt the support from this community from the beginning. I'm happy to chat with anyone who might want to start a haunted house. feel free to reach out.
